5 reasons you'll love an electric scooter

Woman with electric scooter

This Christmas saw a flurry of electric scooter purchases, which was music to our carbon-footprint-reducing ears. With everyone and their nan seemingly hopping on the trend, here are some key benefits and reasons why an electric scooter is right for you.

Environmentally friendly

We're all about reducing our carbon footprint where we can, so if that's on your mind too there's no better time to change the way you travel. Ditching your car or taxi rides for an e-scooter can really help our urban jungles thrive, the average car emits 164.2 grams of CO2 per kilometer traveled.

Conversely, electric scooters give off no CO2, require little electricity for charging and make minimal noise, so every journey you'll be contributing to a cleaner city around you.

Good for your mental health

It's always been important to look after your mental health, but now it's more important than ever. Vitamin D and fresh air have both been proven to help keep you happy, and despite heading into the winter months, as little as 10 minutes a day outdoors can help if you're feeling down. So you'll get some benefits simply by swapping your bus ride to the shops with a scooter ride.

Save time

London is the 6th most congested city globally - the average Londoner spends 227 hours stuck in traffic. And, it seems, if we're not stuck in traffic we're held at a red signal or watching the minutes increase on our next train arrival time.

They're cheap

Ok, we understand there's an upfront cost involved. But spread out over the number of journeys, e-scooters are by far the most effective way to get around the city quickly. You'll be shocked at the cost of charging too, with the average cost of fully charging between 10 to 20p.

They're fun

Ever reminisce on the days of zooming round on your Razor scooter? They're back, and better than ever. So feel the wind in your hair and hop on.

Please note that currently private e-scooters are not to be used on public roads.
